Smokey gets to be chief for one day. Smokey is supposed to be raking leaves, but decides to take a nap in the pile of leaves. Smokey gives an exploding cigar to a friend and it makes the round until it comes back to him. Fiddling Finnegan practices his awful fiddling at Smokey's firehouse. Smokey's son is supposed to practice the violin, but rigs it up with a clock's pendulum. Smokey decides to go to Texas for a vacation because it's all downhill on the map. Cookie bakes the Chief a birthday cake, but the only "candle" Smokey can find turns out to be a firecracker. Smokey and the Chief hide their clothes in a pile of sand while they go swimming, but the sand turns out to be cement. Scripts and art by Bill Holman. 68 pages, full color. Cover price $0.10.

Smilin' Jack is still being mistaken as someone named Powder, and he is forced to marry Boona Goo. Limehouse puts Jack and Fat Stuff in jail and to work in the sulphur mine. Smilin' Jack, Fat Stuff, The Head and The Claw escape from jail, but are eventually caught. Smilin' Jack escapes from prison again, and it looks like he may be rescued. Downwind rescues Jack from the island and brings him back to civilization. Scripts and art by Zack Mosley. 68 pages, full color. Cover price $0.10.
