Discerning that the girl is rich, Mr. Gillis agrees to fund the purchase. Dobie, who has never ridden a horse, regales Clarissa with tales of his enthusiasm. Maynard, who has never ridden a horse, stands by to assist. Then, an impending hurricane cancels the fox hunt. After Dobie is blown away on the high wind, he gives up on Clarissa in The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis tale (untitled; complete in three parts). Characters in this story: Dobie Gillis; Herbert T.
