Cover by Frank McCarthy. Art by Jack Sparling. Cover number is #01-880-912. Dell Movie Classics presented comics based on Hollywood films (not all of them classics). This issue is based on the 1969 sci-fi Western produced by Charles H. Schneer and Ray Harryhausen. It's cowboys vs. dinosaurs, a combination that will make any little kid's heart jump for joy. When cowboys explore the Forbidden Valley in Mexico at the turn of the 20th century, rodeo cowgirl TJ and stuntman Tuck are startled to find prehistoric creatures. Efforts to capture creatures for the circus unleash Gwangi, an allosaurus who then runs amok in the streets of the town. The original film had effects by the great Ray Harryhausen, and was conceived by Harryhausen's mentor, Willis O'Brien of King Kong fame. Cover from the movie poster by Frank McCarthy. 32 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.15.
