Nocturne GN (2019 Top Shelf) #1-1STTags: The Walled City Trilogy (part 2)Published Dec 2019 by Top Shelf Productions.$6.00
$6.00
The Walled City Trilogy: Book 2 - 1st printing.
Written by Anne Opotowsky. Art by Aya Morton.
In 1905, a child is kidnapped and brought to Hong Kong, growing into a clever and reckless young man looking for answers. In the 1930s, the British are shaping that island into the free-trade playground for which it will soon become famous... while China's internal strife borders on chaos. The eccentricities of Hong Kong rub off on everyone, the greed is more palpable, the lust and caution herd on both the young and old.
Within the Walled City itself, the population has grown by leaps and bounds, despite attempts to clear them out. Both the British and the Chinese now declare it a lawless ghetto, a legal No Man's Land... so the city evolves into an astonishing world of its own. In this chaotic yet harmonious world, the three boys from Book One-Song, Xi, and Yubo-are finding three very different ways to become men.
Abductions, obsessions, refugees, and star-crossed lovers intertwine throughout this staggeringly ambitious and gorgeously illustrated saga... while the undercurrents of power, manipulation, and loss begin to show terrible cracks in the walls.
Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11 1/2-in., 460 pages, PC/PB&W. Mature Readers

1st printing. By y Eddie Campbell and Daren White. The Playwright rather enjoys a quiet moment in the local park. It is a good place to mentally sort his ideas, and is often frequented by pretty young ladies. He once saw a pigeon defecate onto a businessman's shoulder. It struck him as absurd that such an event is often considered lucky. Surely the luck lay with passers-by who, statistically, were far less likely to be similarly soiled, at that precise moment. Similarly, the Playwright always derived an almost perverse sense of relief whenever he received news that an old friend had developed prostate cancer. Because statistically, he reasoned, such news significantly reduced the chances of him being similarly afflicted. And to be honest, at his age, his prostate needed all the statistical support he could muster. The Playwright: a dark, romantic comedy about the sex life of a celibate, middle-aged man. Hardcover (Horizontal Format), 9in. x 5-in., 160 pages, full color. Cover price $14.95.

Krazy Little Comics (1967 Topps): Prince Violet is one of sixteen parody mini-comics originally produced as test market items in 1967, by the Topps Chewing Gum Company. They did not see full national distribution. All were written by Roy Thomas and feature Wally Wood cover and interior art. These minis spoof not only Marvel and DC super-heroes, but other comic characters as well, like the Phantom, Prince Valiant, and Tarzan. These possibly predate, or are at least contemporaneous with, Not Brand Ecch! #1 (08/1967), and are among the rarest of the Merry Marvel Marching Society era items. Full color, 2.5-in. x 3.5-in., no cover price.

1st printing. Written by Andre Frattino. Art and cover by Yasmin Flores Montanez. Foreword by Alex Segura. Family or freedom? Discover the astonishing history of the mass evacuation of Cuban children, leaving communism—and their loved ones—behind. We Are Pan is based on the true story of Operación Pedro Pan, a joint effort between the U.S. government and the Catholic Welfare Bureau to evacuate 14,000 children from Cuba to the U.S. between 1960 and 1962. With the rise of communism following Fidel Castros revolution, parents feared for their childrens future and, through this secret operation, secured passage for them to America. These children (later referred to as Pedro Pans) would be distributed across the U.S., mostly living in foster homes. In many cases, these children never saw their families again, and their lives would be changed forever. This is their story. Softcover, pages, full color. Rated T+ Cover price $19.99.
