    1st full appearance of Darkseid (his 3rd appearance anywhere). Superman guest stars--Odd fact: DC didn't like Kirby's rendition of Superman in this issue, so they had another artist redraw Superman (in the standard Curt Swan fashion of the day) in every panel of the comic!
