Written by Greg T. Le Duc with art by Ron Randall, Tadd Galusha and Cat Ferris. The story of Curly Lambeau and the founding of the Green Bay Packers Pro football team is like no other sports story. Through tough games, injuries, bankruptcy, rain, sleet and snowstorms and then the Great Depression, it's a true story that reads more like fiction. Without the unrelenting support of their fans this little team of the Frozen Tundra would never have survived. They played for the love of the game, not money. This is the inspired telling of what it takes to be a winner, not as a flashy overnight sensation, but as a decade long struggle to reach the top of the league! B&W 24pgs. Cover price $3.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Joe Kessler. The life of an orphaned boy is shaped by the devotion of a fantastical Gull in this lovingly rendered, entirely wordless graphic novel by a contemporary comics innovator. Told in striking colors and loose but confident lines, the story begins when a young boy awakens late one night to find his home on fire. The boy is saved by a lanky, shapeshifting Gull (who may or may not be real). Orphaned by the fire, and now adrift in a boat piloted by the Gull, the boy faces an uncertain future, one that will be both helped and hindered by his new attendant. Without a word, Kessler builds a strange but recognizable world, using it to explore all the forms that grief, jealousy, longing, and love can take in our lives, and the compassion and cruelty that can dwell in a single heart. Filled with all the warmth and poignancy of a great folktale, THE GULL YETTIN proves that Kessler is pushing comics to new heights. Softcover, 5-in. x 8-in., 216 pages, full color. Cover price $19.95.

That's when Harvey Comics stepped in, and where this book begins. Harvey breathed life into Casper, and from the very first issue, the cover designs, stories, and artwork - drawn by the same animators who worked on the cartoons - were a cut above. Harvey Comics Classics Volume 1: Casper contains over 100 of Casper's very best stories, from the beginning of the Harvey series in 1952 through the classic years of the mid-1960s. The art is reproduced from crisp black-and-white printer's proofs and original artwork from the old Harvey archives, along with sixty four pages of color meticulously restored from the original comic books. The book includes a comprehensive introduction illustrated with historic memorabilia. ? Features an introduction by Jerry Beck. Softcover, 480 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $19.99.

1st printing. By Mark Arnold. Harvey Comics - the name conjures up images of characters such as Casper, the Friendly Ghost and Richie Rich, the Poor Little Rich Boy adorning small TV sets alongside the spine of their comic books. But the Harvey story was much, much more. A company started by Alfred Harvey in 1941, Harvey continued on with a number of genres including war, romance and horror, and fortuitously acquired the publishing rights to Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios animated cartoon characters including Baby Huey, Little Audrey and Herman & Katnip. Comic book and animation historian and Harvey expert Mark Arnold finally tells the complete story of Alfred Harvey's amazing company in The Harvey Comics Companion! Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 774 pages, B&W. Cover price $39.00.

Cover by Marvin Bradley and Frank Edgington. Stories and art by Marvin Bradley and Frank Edgington. The first issue of this showcase series from future children's publisher Harvey has a place in comics history. It reprints the comic strip Rex Morgan, MD, by Marvin Bradley and Frank Edgington, featuring a standard anti-drug storyline. But the lurid pre-Code cover blurb and art attracted the attention of anti-comics crusader Dr. Frederic Wertham, who mentioned it in the text of his anti-comics classic Seduction of the Innocent (p. 27). The Comics Code, of course, was soon to follow. Rex Morgan, MD: Teen-Age Dope Slaves; Meet the Creators of Rex Morgan, M.D. 36 pages, Full Color. Cover price $0.10.
