1st printing. Written by Sergio Aragones and Antonio Prohias. Art by Antonio Prohias. This book shares MAD's most beloved comic strip, "Spy vs. Spy", in a way it has never before been seen - full color. One of the most celebrated comic strips in MAD's history has a deceptively simple concept: twin Spies, one clad in black and the other in white, outdoing each other in elaborately stupid plots to achieve the other's demise. Now, the artists at MAD are colorizing the best of the original strips, presenting these timeless classics in a modernized design that will appeal to nostalgic fans as well as current magazine readers. New material created for the book will include a biography of the original artist, Antonio Prohias, in strip form, charts and graphs deconstructing the Spies' antics, new interpretations of the Spies by 10 artists, and more. Hardcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 224 pages, full color. Cover price $24.95.

    1st printing.

Story and art by Joris Vermassen.

Tom is a stand-up comic with a checkered career. At one point everyone thought that his older sister would join him to make up a comedy duo, but Ellen was always more minded towards drawing and art in general. But she remained the driving force behind Tom's work and helped obtain and support his live gigs. Then one day she came to Tom with some cruel news: she had pancreatic cancer. Surgery was followed by hospitalization. Nothing to laugh at you'd imagine, but Tom and Ellen continue to bounce humor off each other with Tom running the gauntlet of the doctors' ire to take Ellen out to see the trees and her favorite statue in the park, The Mad Maiden by Rik Wouters, inspired by dancer Isadora Duncan. To her dying day Ellen thought the statue looked mad with joy!
