Volume 1 [Gwandanaland Comics #2371] - This is a print to order book so publish dates may vary

Collects Psycho (1971-1975 Skywald) Magazine #1-4.

    Cover by Brendan Lynch.

Launched by Golden Age veteran Sol Brodsky and I.W. Publishing's pirate reprinter Israel Waldman, Skywald (using parts of each last name) was going to be the next force in comics! The long list of established professionals suiggested that this would be the case: Writers T. Casey Brennan, Gerry Conway, Steve Englehart, Gardner Fox, Doug Moench, Dave Sim, Len Wein, and Marv Wolfman, and artists Rich Buckler, Gene Day Vince Colletta, Bill Everett, Bruce Jones, Pablo Marcos, Syd Shores, Chic Stone, and Tom Sutton (plus a little work from newcomer John Byrne). The line centered on horror, with NIGHTMARE, PSYCHO and SCREAM headlining. The stories were top-notch and the artwork unparalleled, and for five years Skywald offered masters of the genre. Alas, this small company could not compete with the power of major distributors of Marvel and DC, being pushed off the newsstands, until in 1975 the last Skywald issue was published.

Skywald produced incredible stories, but they were negligent in one very important task – they failed to copyright their horror mags. So, for the first time in Gwandanaland ComicsTM history, we're able to bring you some great books from the 1970s! Look for the individual issues, economical four-issue collections, and even some bigger than that!

    Softcover, 9 1/2-in. x 12-in., 266 pages, B&W.

NOTE: This is a print to order book so publish dates may vary.

Story and art by Tadao Tsuge.

Though virtually unknown in the United States, Tadao Tsuge is one of the original masters of alternative manga, and one of the world's great artists of the down-and-out. Never before available in English, this new collection of his stories from the late 60s and the 70s depicts the lives of punks, vagrants, gangsters, and other lost souls with gritty lyricism. It is a raucous, exhilarating vision of street brawls and dive bars, shantytowns and brothels, and an unsettling portrait of postwar Japan.

Written by Raoul Vezina, Tom Skulan, Roger Green, and Mitch Cohn. Art by Raoul Vezina and Bill Anderson. Cover by Raoul Vezina. Photography by Francis Parsons, Bill DeMichele, and Roger Green. Introduction by Tom Skulan.

This big volume collects all the art, advertisements, newspaper strips, greeting cards and comic book stories featuring the rascally rodent, Smilin' Ed Smiley created by the late cartoonist Raoul Vezina.

Smilin' Ed had a large following in the late 1970's and early 1980's until the untimely death of Vezina in 1984. Ed, a wisecracking rodent, gets involved with gangsters, crazed collectors, movie producers and even a television show. The humor is sly satire blended perfectly with Vezina's clever cartoon characters.

Lovin' Remembrances by Roger Green, Bill Anderson, Michael T. Gilbert, and Fred Hembeck, and a special heartfelt tribute from Raoul's sister, Maria Vezina.

    Softcover, 9-in. x 12-in., 160 pages, B&W.

    By Charles M. Schulz.

This collection of 248 daily Peanuts newspaper strips that appeared between 1955 and 1958 focuses on perhaps the most famous character in the Peanuts universe, Charlie Brown's beagle, Snoopy.

Whether he's chasing snow flakes, doing impersonations, battling the Red Baron or just dancing his world famous happy jig, things are always going to be a little sillier when Snoopy's around.

This book is a facsimile edition of the fifth Peanuts collection originally published back in 1958.

Written by Jacques Lob. Art by Jean-Marc Rochette.

    From Titan Comics.

Snowpiercer is the enthralling and thought-provoking post-apocalyptic graphic novel that inspired the critically acclaimed movie starring Chris Evans (Captain America, Fantastic Four). Originally published in French, this marks the first time that Snowpiercer will be available in English.

In a harsh, uncompromisingly cold future where Earth has succumbed to treacherously low temperatures, the last remaining members of humanity travel on a train while the outside world remains encased in ice. The surviving community are not without a social hierarchy; those that travel at the front of the train live in relative luxury whilst those unfortunate enough to be at the rear remain clustered like cattle in claustrophobic darkness. Yet, things are about to change aboard the train as passengers become disgruntled...

An anonymous official chides a man under surveillance for stepping out of view of a security camera; visitors to an underground mall are forced to form a new society when a nuclear strike may (or may not) have left them as the sole survivors on Earth; newlyweds living in an authoritarian New York City attempt to navigate the insidious hurdles of being permitted to have a child; and a Puerto Rican boxer discovers that segregation continues in America long after death. In this collection of three novellas, Wonder City, Shelter, and 1996, published together in English for the first time, Chantal Montellier's blend of dark humor, gripping storytelling, and consistent focus on the perils of totalitarianism, shows her to be a master of both comics and science fiction.
