1st printing. Written by Nicky Wright and Joe Kubert. The world has never seen the like of the American comic book. In their heyday, the top 500 comics sold over 60 million copies a month, and are still avidly collected. Taking us from the 1930s into the 1950s, Nicky Wright tells the fascinating story of the rise of this highly creative popular art form through its decline due to the self-censorship imposed by Congress and the churches. Highly illustrated with a huge range of front covers, comic strips, and images of the characters, the book also covers the personalities who wrote, drew, and edited these classics. Softcover, 9-in. x 12-in., 240 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $24.95.

After discovering her safari had been wiped out by an unknown hostile native tribe and she'd saved herself by using her ability to make an extra-loud gorilla call, which the natives mistook for the approach of M'Gana and fled. Volume 1 - 1st printing. "1969-1970!" Story and art by Harry Lindfield. Published in the U.S. for the first time! In 1969, six months before the Star Trek TV series premiered in England, British comics readers were introduced to the characters in an original comic-book series. The stories were serialized, generally 2 to 3 pages at a time, in 257 weekly magazines spanning five years and 37 storylines. These extremely rare comics have never been published in the United States. Star Trek fans will quickly note that the comics were not written with strict adherence to Star Trek's core concepts. But it's precisely that "offness" that makes them so eminently readable and deserving of a proper reprinting. They're unique in the annals of Star Trek and fans have gone without them for far too long. Hardcover, 9-in. x 11-in., 244 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $49.99.
