I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream Because Puns Suck TPB (2017 AM) A Pearls Before Swine Collection #1-1STTags: Pearls Before Swine Collection (part 19), Comic Strip ReprintsPublished Sep 2017 by Andrews McMeel.$6.00
1st printing. Story and art by Stephan Pastis. Puns. We know it's coming. The telltale signs are all there: the oddly specific setup, the unusual word choice, and, just visible out of the corner of our eye, the final panel of Stephan sitting at his desk awaiting the chastisement of one of his characters. Somehow the pun still manages to elicit a groan larger than we expected. Fortunately for us - and for Stephan's job security - there are more than just puns in I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream Because Puns Suck. The entire Pearls Before Swine crew returns in some of the strip's most raucous cartoons yet. Softcover, 128 pages, PC/PB&W. Cover price $14.99.

Story and art by Stephan Pastis.
In I'm Only in This for Me, the Pearls gang dares to tell the hard truths that the country needs to hear: the importance of prioritizing cheese over everything else, the sadly ignored capacity of bears to solve all of life's problems, and the crucial Recognition Gap between women in bars and semi-obscure cartoonists with delusions of grandeur. But beneath all the selfishness, absurdity, bungling crocs, and bazooka-wielding ducks, Rat, Pig, Goat, and Zebra continue to find that friendship can make life warmer, humor can make stupidity less annoying, and cheese really does make everything way, way better. Lastly, this collection features the triumphant return of a legendary comics icon: Stephan Pastis! (And also some weirdo named Bill Watterson.)

One of the best-selling cartoons today. Offering blistering commentary on hot-button topics related to recent news events, popular culture, cartoon-page contemporaries, and more, Pearls Before Swine expertly illustrates the flaws and shortcomings of human nature through Pastiss mindful menagerie of fiery and feisty characters. Stephan Pastis offers Pearls Before Swine fans a visit to the other side of the looking glass with his latest collection, Larry in Wonderland. Collecting almost a year's worth of strips, Larry in Wonderland offers cutting-edge commentary on recent news events, popular culture, and cartoon-page contemporaries, and imparts the knowledge that in Wonderland, crocodiles taste a lot like chicken.
Through Pastis's mindful menagerie of characters, including the Mad Ducker, Cheshire Snuffles, Tweedledum Pig, and Tweedledee Idiot Pig, along with Raterpillar, Zebra, and Larry the Croc, Pearls Before Swine expertly illustrates the flaws and shortcomings of human nature, while remaining "indifferent" to conventional cartoon molds such as plotline "continuity." In the words of Raterpillar, "Plotline schmotline."
With multiple honors as Best Comic Strip of the Year by the National Cartoonists Society, and an international fan base that follows the strip's appearance in more than 600 newspapers worldwide, Pearls Before Swine transports readers to a world of shifting perspectives and alternate realities, like the one presented inside Larry in Wonderland.

1st printing. Written by Daniel Martson. Twelve world-renowned military historians provide a re-evaluation of the events, troops, strategies, and tactics of the Pacific campaign of World War II. Despite unforgiving conditions and brutal jungle fighting that drained resources and morale, the American advance across the ocean towards the Japanese homelands drove the evolution of ever more innovative amphibious warfare, and increasingly desperate Japanese countermeasures. Bringing together American, Japanese, Australian and British perspectives, each chapter focuses on a different aspect of the conflict - from operational planning to the experiences of the men on the ground, and from the assault on Pearl Harbor to the atomic annihilation of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Softcover, 5-in. x 7 1/2 -in., 264 pages, Text (with B&W and Color Photos). Cover price $12.95.

1st printing. Written by Steve White. Art by Jerrold Spahn. On the quiet, sunny morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy launched a surprise attack on the U.S. Navy in Oahu, Hawaii, designed to crush and render helpless American forces in the Pacific region. Rather than crush the U.S. fighting spirit, the American public, outraged by the assault—yet previously divided over America's role in the overseas conflict—rallied in support of the government's decision to enter WWII against Japan. And when Otto's enemies come back to finish what they started, Pearl is the only one who can save him, but only if she has the courage to let go of her past and open up to others-including the girl from class she's got a crush on.

Pearls Before Swine was voted the Best Comic Strip of 2003 by the National Cartoonists Society, and in Nighthogs, the strip's third collection, Stephan Pastis proves that his strip is one of the sharpest, funniest comics in newspapers. You never know who you'll bump into at a diner at night. It could be a rat with an anger-management problem. Or an overly sentimental pig. Or a zebra with a story or two to tell about a crocodile. Or even a goat who just wants to be left alone.
Welcome to Nighthogs, where the door is always open, the light is always on, and the coffee is as scorching as the humor.
In this third collection of the immensely popular Pearls Before Swine, Stephan Pastis again takes us into the world of Rat, Pig, Zebra, and Goat, and he shows once more just how outrageous-and how hilarious-the unpredictable can be. Always surprising (and only occasionally depraved), Pearls Before Swine is one of the sharpest comic strips in newspapers today. So pull up a stool, have a cup of joe, and enjoy.

The Fab Four of the funny pages come together again-this time in their first book treasury. Rat, Pig, Zebra, and Goat, the central characters of Pearls Before Swine, are back in Sgt. Piggy's Lonely Hearts Club Comic, the first Pearls Before Swine treasury-supersized for your enjoyment. But this is no ordinary cartoon treasury. Like the influential Beatles album that inspired the book's title, Sgt. Piggy is full of surprises. In addition to collecting all of the Pearls cartoons that appeared in BLTs Taste So Darn Good and This Little Piggy Stayed Home, cartoonist Stephan Pastis takes readers on a VIP backstage tour of one of the most successful comic strips in newspapers today.
In Sgt. Piggy, Pastis explains the genesis of Pearls (hint: it didn't begin at an artist's easel), why he was initially reluctant to show it to newspaper syndicates (and the surprising reason he changed his mind), the unexpected responses from readers to his work, and which Pearls strips worked and which ones didn't (and how he would have corrected the ones that didn't). The result is a rare and revealing glimpse into the world of Rat, Pig, Goat and Zebra. Full of humor and insight, sardonic asides and unexpected truths, Sgt. Piggy's Lonely Hearts Club Comic is a book that comics fans everywhere can enjoy anytime-even when they're 64!

By Stephan Pastis.
Some believe that the key to humor is timing. Others think it lies in a slightly distorted presentation of the familiar. E. B. White thought that humor ceased to exist upon close examination. But if anyone has humor figured out, it's Stephan Pastis. His philosophy is written in black felt pen on the bulletin board in his home office. It reads: 'When in doubt, kill cute things.'" Lock up your valuables. Stockpile your ammunition. Sandbag your bunker. The familiar foursome of Rat, Pig, Goat, and Zebra-joined now by the fraternity of Zeeba Zeeba Eata crocodiles are here to storm the ramparts of humor in The Ratvolution Will Not Be Televised.
In this fourth collection from the award-winning comic strip Pearls Before Swine, Stephan Pastis deploys all the weapons of his comic arsenal in an all-out attack on the animal (and human) imperfections he sees around him. The result is a collection jam-packed with the sharp-edged humor that has made Pearls Before Swine one of the most successful comic strips running in newspapers today. Just remember: As The Ratvolution Will Not Be Televised makes clear, Pearls Before Swine takes no prisoners.

From fire-breathing jugglers to sword-swallowing illusionists, this treasury showcases all strips from Larry in Wonderland and Because Sometimes You Just Gotta Draw a Cover with Your Left Hand, along with Pastis's original commentary, which provides insight into what Pastis was thinking at the time random strips were conceived, and also fan reactions.
Tackling topics ranging from current events and modern technology to human and croc nature, Pearls Freaks the #*%# Out offers up a sideshow of feisty characters, including arrogant, self-centered, and totally hilarious Rat, who leads his four-legged collection of freakish friends through a carnival of misadventure. Joining the circuslike cavalcade are Pig, the slow but good-hearted conscience of the strip; Goat, the voice of reason that often goes unheard; Zebra, the activist; and those eternally inept carnivorous Crocs, who we learn happen to taste a lot like chicken. Pastis's cynical humor and sharp wit imbue this entertaining vaudevillian collection.

Move over! Pearls Before Swine is back and badder than ever in the new treasury collection Pearls Hogs the Road. The Pearls gang returns with characteristically misanthropic humor (but with more leather): no self-aggrandizing is too flagrant for Rat, no subject is too erudite for Goat, and no sensory input is too basic for Pig. All topics are fair game for Stephan Pastis and his brass-knuckle punch lines. Comic strip censors, apathetic baristas, and IRS employees are all strongly advised to laugh or get out of the way.
Pearls Hogs the Road also features three comic strips illustrated by the legendary Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes, who ended a 19-year hiatus from the comics page to collaborate with Pastis.

Adam Kline is stuck in a university job, surrounded by academic boors and completely ignored by the New York art scene. Miraculously, a promotion appears and a high-end art dealer expresses interest in his work. However, he keeps blacking out at the most inopportune times and his perception of reality and fantasy begins to blur....
This wryly funny tale is further enlivened, as Adam contends with an eerie, pitch-black void, flesh-eating zombies, and a network of bug-eyed aliens. As if getting by in NYC wasn't hard enough!

Written by Mickey Neilson. Art and cover by Sean "Cheeks" Galloway.
In this enthralling original graphic novel published in a landscape format, you will meet the PANDAREN, one of the most beloved (and mysterious) races in World of Warcraft! Written by Blizzard's own Micky Neilson (the World of Warcraft MMORPG, World of Warcraft: Ashbringer and World of Warcraft: Curse of the Worgen), with art by fan favorite Sean "Cheeks" Galloway (TV's Teen Titans Go and WEDNESDAY COMICS), this story ties directly into the upcoming World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria expansion pack. The tale introduces Li Li Stormstout, a precocious young student who lives atop a giant turtle called Shen-zin Su. Like the rest of the wandering island's pandaren, Li Li comes from a line of adventurers who left their homeland long ago to explore the world...and she wants nothing more than to chase that dream. But when Li Li runs away to find her famous uncle Chen, how will she survive Azeroth's perils?
