Wounded during D-Day and discharged, Gordon and Red return home and decide to fight crime as the Black Raider. In a story similar to the Spectre's origin, a police officer is allowed to continue fighting for justice after death, as The Collector of souls. When gangsters stage a deadly robbery during his act, Merlin the Boy Magician decides to use his talents to track down the killers. Wicked cover by L. B. Cole.
