1st printing. Written by David Lester and Marcus Rediker. Art and cover by David Lester. Foreword by Marcus Rediker. A stunning graphic history of how enslaved Africans on board the Amistad rebelled and captured the slave ship in 1839, challenging a whitewashed version of history and putting the Africans back at the center of their own freedom story. From the trio of Rediker, Lester, and Buhle comes another graphic "history from below" about the Amistad rebellion of 1839 when 53 enslaved Africans on the slave ship Amistad slipped out of their restraints and overpowered their enslavers and ships crew. Sold into slavery in their homeland of Sierra Leone and later bound for Puerto Príncipe, Cuba, from Havana, these Africans, led by the charismatic warrior Cinqué, forced the ships remaining crew to sail homeward. Divided into 3 parts, The Black Schooner begins with the intense night of the uprising and takes readers on a reconstructed journey: from sailing on the open ocean to a New Haven, Connecticut, jail, where the captured Africans awaited trial for mutiny and murder; to the Supreme courtroom that found that the rebels had been illegally enslaved and would now be free to return to their native land. Through it all, artist David Lester chronicles their story using striking imagery, showing how they achieved an unexpected and powerful international victory for the abolitionist movement and forced some of the most powerful people in the world to confront the issue of human bondage. Based on Redikers book The Amistad Rebellion: An Atlantic Odyssey of Slavery and Freedom, The Black Schooner challenges a whitewashed history and instead, puts the Africans back at the center of their own freedom story—where they belong. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 136 pages, B&W. Cover price $18.95.

Populated with characters both familiar and shocking, this book challenges expectations of mainstream super hero comics, and establishes a new breed of hero for the Marvel Universe. Expect a unique band of freedom fighters forging their own Trail of Tears through a gamma-irradiated desert the best way they can. No excuses asked for, none given. Expect the worst mankind has to offer bubbling to the surface of America, and spilling out over the godforsaken west. Expect a reluctant hero of a different breed. A man with the power to blaze his own trail, but just a man nonetheless. ? THE CREATORS: By Joe Kelly (DEADPOOL), Matt Haley (Elseworld's Finest) and Steve Leiber (Whiteout). Written by Gerry Finlay Day and Steve MacManus as Ian Rogan). Art by Alan Davis, Dave Gibbons, Cam Kennedy, Ian Kennedy, Garry Leach, Mick McMahon, and Carlos Pino. Cover by Alan Davis, Dave Gibbons, and Cam Kennedy. Back Cover by Cam Kennedy. Introduction by Pat Mills.
From the very beginning of his career working on girl's comics for DC Thomson, it was clear that Gerry Finley-Day was a writer who oozed creative genius.
Both editing and writing for IPC's Tammy, he transformed the title with riveting tales including the fondly remembered Slaves of War Orphan Farm. But it was on the boy's titles where he made the biggest impact, starting on Battle with strips such as The Sarge, and Hellman of Hammer Force for Action. The work that he produced for seminal UK sci-fi comic 2000 AD really highlight how Finley-Day lives and breathes ideas.
This collection showcases some of his best-known strips, including instalments from Rogue Trooper, The VC's, Dan Dare, and the complete Harry Twenty on the High Rock.

Volume 1 - 1st printing. Art by Barry Mitchell, Horacio Lalia, Massimo Belardinelli, Mike Dorey, and Ramon Sola. Cover by Don Lawrence, Geoff Campion, Gerry Finley-Day, John Wagner, Kelvin Gosnell, Pat Mills, Steve MacManus, and Tom Tully. CELEBRATING FIFTY YEARS OF BRITAIN'S MOST CONTROVERSIAL COMIC! Violent, gritty and unrelenting, Action comic was the brainchild of Pat Mills and Geoff Kemp. Tasked with creating a new anthology comic for the IPC's boys adventure division, the pair rapidly developed a winning formula: reimagining existing story ideas from fresh perspectives and infusing them with a health dose of modern realism. With strips such as Hookjaw, Dredger, Look Out For Lefty and Blackjack, success was instantaneous but so was the criticism. Many of the press including, The London Evening Standard, The Sun and the Daily Mail were quick to denounce the comic, while Mary Whitehouse and the pressure group, Delegates Opposing Violent Education, piled pressure on the IPC board to do something about it. In less than a year, Action had been pulled from circulation, then returned months later, a sanitized, pale shadow of its former self. But the spark had already been lit. Action had made its mark and became the catalyst for the evolution of the British comics scene, pathing the way for 2000 AD and the British invasion of UK talent into America. Collected here are the first twelve issues of Action, containing all of the strips and some of the editorial that created so much infamy back in the 1970s. Hardcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 384 pages, B&W. Cover price $59.99.

An often unsung titan of the industry, Carlos Ezquerra's influence has been as broad as his artwork was inimitable. His co-creation of Judge Dredd and powerful work on Strontium Dog alone helped establish 2000 AD as a powerhouse and him as a comics master. When he passed away unexpectedly in 2018, comics was robbed of one of its most vibrant, dynamic and powerful talents, yet his legacy is almost unparalleled in the industry.
This 240-page hardcover collection spans half a century of his comic work and is ideal for both long-time fans and those looking to discover his work for themselves.
