Story and art by Gil Kane.
Legendary comic artist Gil Kane tells an epic sci-fi fantasy tale in the same vein as Spartacus and Gladiator.
In 1974, Gil Kane created Blackmark as a paperback series for Bantam Books. Kane was a comics artist specializing in super-heroes who had drawn every major character at DC and Marvel. Blackmark was his attempt to go "independent" and create a series which he could own, and whose creative direction he would control.
The first volume of this sword & sorcery/heroic fantasy narrative, designed and published in the paperback format, has been out of print for over 25 years, and the completed second volume was never published. Fantagraphics Books is proud to collect both volumes in a single trade book format, larger than the original paperback size to better showcase Kane's elegant line art!

DC Black Label Edition - 1st printing. Collects DC: The New Frontier (2004) #1-6 and Justice League: The New Frontier Special (2008).
Story and art by Darwyn Cooke.
The masked mystery men who fought for freedom in the Second World War have been outlawed. The soldiers and spies who conducted top-secret missions into the unknown now work in the shadows. With darkness gathering on the horizon once more, only a bold new generation of adventurers -- young, daring, and dedicated to the better angels of our nature -- is equal to the challenge of the New Frontier.
From Eisner Award-winning writer-artist Darwyn Cooke and Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart comes DC: The New Frontier-- a timeless tale of idealism that has become one of the most acclaimed superhero comics of the 21st century.
This edition collects the original 6-issue miniseries together with the Justice League: New Frontier Special, and features over 50 pages of designs, sketches and preliminary artwork from the author.
Softcover, 520 pages, full color.

1st printing. Written byLoo Hui Phang. Art and cover by Hugues Micol. Maximus Ohanzee Wildhorse, renamed "Maximus Wyld" by Hollywood, was a talented, prized, admired comedian. Of mixed race black, Chinese, and Amerindian descent, he was "the actor with a thousand faces," essentially interpreting ethnic roles: Indian chief, Mexican revolutionary, oriental dandy. His filmography is an anthology of cinema: Vertigo, The Maltese Falcon, Sunset Boulevard, The Prisoner of the Desert, Rebecca. However, no credits mention his name. On celluloid there is no imprint of his face. Maximus the precursor rests in the graveyard of Hollywood amnesia. What event pushed him into limbo? What occult and superior force has stored his career in a cinematic Bermuda Triangle? A veritable reinterpretation of the myth of American cinema through the prism of minorities, Erased reveals the political and social dimension of Hollywood productions. Hardcover, 8-in.x 11-in., 200 pages, B&W. Cover price $24.99.
