This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

1st printing. By Dan Copp. When Kenneth Johnson's science fiction miniseries V premiered in 1983, it netted more than 40 percent of the television viewing audience and went on to spawn a sequel, a weekly series, novelizations, comic books and a remake. Entertainment Weekly named the show one of the 10 best miniseries of all time. At first impression the original two-part alien invasion epic may seem a mishmash of science fiction clichés. Yet behind the laser pistols, anthropomorphic reptiles and flying saucers lies a compelling treatise on the nature of power, oppression and resistance, inspired by both classic literature and historical events. Featuring exclusive interviews with cast and crew, this book examines V's cultural impact and considers the future of the franchise. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 196 pages, Text. Cover price $19.99.

This item is not in stock at MyComicShop. If you use the "Add to want list" tab to add this issue to your want list, we will email you when it becomes available.

"Flash Gordon in Time Out" - This item is an 8-Pager, commonly known as a Tijuana Bible; most were published ca. 1920s-1940s. The artists, writers, and publishers of these booklets are generally unknown. Most 8-Pagers are humorous takes on newspaper comic strip characters, movie stars, and political figures of the time, usually in sexually explicit situations, and invariably produced without permission or respect for copyright. These are timeless pieces of American comic sub-culture and are often considered the precursor to the underground comics created by the likes of Robert Crumb and Gilbert Shelton. Due to the circumstances in which these items were originally created, it is virtually impossible to determine edition and printing, although modern era reprints are usually easily identifiable. We will note these differences to the best of our ability. Not available for international sale. You must be 18 or older to order this item. Stapled pages, 4-in. x 3-in., 8 pages, single ink color.

Her brain churns with images of the great novel she could and should be writing - what will eventually be Strangers on a Train. Softcover, 224 pages, full color. Cover price $18.99.

ByJordan Peele. Introduction by Tananarive Due.

Jordan Peeles powerful thriller Get Out debuted in 2017 to enormous public and critical acclaim, a Guess Whos Coming to Dinner? for the age of Obama and Trump that scared audiences and skewered white liberal pieties at the same time. Rather than rely on popular archetypes, Peele weaves together the material realities and daily manifestations of horror with sociopolitical fears and elements of true suspense, and combines them with pitch-perfect satire and timely cultural critique.

This companion paperback to the film presents Peeles Oscar-winning screenplay alongside supplementary material. Featuring an essay by author and scholar Tananarive Due and in-depth annotations by the director, this publication is richly illustrated with more than 150 stills from the motion picture and presents alternate endings, deleted scenes and an inside look at the concepts and behind-the-scenes production of the film.

1st printing. Collects Gunwitch Outskirts of Doom (2001) #1-3. By Dan Brereton and Ted Naifeh. The Gunwitch, silent and deadly bodyguard to the misfit family of monstrous heroes known as the Nocturnals, breaks away in his first solo adventure! When the pistol-packing Gunwitch and his young charge, Evening Horror, find themselves in a small town ravaged by undead outlaws and true Hell's Angels -- motorcycle ridin' vampires -- The Gunwitch takes it upon himself to bring down both groups before any more innocents can be hurt. But, as the undead protector embroils himself in the conflict, what once seemed to be an old fashioned turf war is revealed to be something much more sinister. Writer Dan Brereton (Nocturnals, Giantkiller) and artist Ted Naifeh (Gloomcookie) mix the American Spaghetti Western and drive-in horror with a hard-boiled sense of gallows humor. You'll never leave your night-light off again. Softcover, 88 pages, B&W. Cover price $9.95.

Hulk Hogan My Life Outside the Ring SC (2010 St. Martin's Press) 1-1ST

    1st printing.

By Hulk Hogan with Mark Dagostino.

Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, burst onto the professional wrestling scene in the late seventies and went on to become a world wrestling champion many times over.

From humble beginnings, this giant of a man escaped a pre-ordained life of dock and construction work in Port Tampa, Florida, to become one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet. He did it through sheer will, grit, determination, and a drive to always go over the top and do more than what others thought possible. From the outside, his story was one of a charmed life. He was at the top of his career, had a wonderful and loving family, and a lifelong fan base who worshipped him. Of course he had his up and down, including hints of steroid abuse and his falling out with WWE and Vince McMahon, but it's been the last two years that have tested Hogan more than any other in his lifetime.

In 2007, while riding the massive success of his VH1 reality show, Hogan Knows Best, his son Nick was involved in a tragic car accident that left his best friend in critical condition. Then Linda, his wife, left him after 23 years of marriage, his beloved daughter Brooke blamedhim for the breakup and his son went to jail. The tabloid media had a field day. When unflattering jailhouse conversations between him and his son were released to the press the tabloids were in a frenzy. The sudden turmoil and tragedy surrounding Hogan took its toll. He fell into a deep depression, seeing no way out, until one fateful phone call.

In My Life Outside the Ring, Hogan will unabashedly recount these events, revealing how his new found clarity steadied him during the most difficult match of his life, and how he emerged from the battle feeling stronger than ever before.

Softcover, 320 pages, Text (with 16 pages of B&W and Full Color Photos).

    Cover price $14.99.
