1st printing. Written by Roger Hill. Art by Wally Wood. Wally Wood's career is legendary among the annals of comic's history. He rocketed to fame working on Will Eisner's The Spirit newspaper strip and became one of the most talented artists working for EC Comics during the 1950s. Wood also became a star of EC's satire comic called Mad, which went on to even greater success as a magazine, allowing the artist to apply his amazing talents in a broader spectrum. When the comics industry fell on lean times during the mid 1950s, Wood segued into the field of science fiction pulp illustration, providing over 200 beautiful drawings and several color cover paintings for the digest magazines; particularly Galaxy. Wood left behind a legacy of great art, much of which has never been reprinted. This book will feature them all. Long time Wally Wood historian Roger Hill has spent the past twenty years pulling together the history of Wood's involvement with the pulp digests and tracking down original art for this project. Written by Harvey Kurtzman, Jerry De Fuccio, Carl Wessler, Wallace Wood, and Archie Goodwin. Art and cover by Wally Wood.
When Wallace Wood teamed up with Harvey Kurtzman, the result was some of the best war stories ever put to paper. Wood and Kurtzman delivered deeply human tales from the Civil War to World War I to World War II to Korea. Wood and Kurtzman depicted the madness and horror of war, including the controversial title story which depicted the bombing of Nagasaki from the viewpoint of the victims on the ground.
Atom Bomb and Other Stories collects all the combat tales Wood and Kurtzman did together for EC's Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat, plus other war stories Wood did for EC writer/editor Al Feldstein as well.

1st printing. Superficially resembling 1960s teenage humor comics, Tim Hensley's graphic novel Wally Gropius is actually an acute satire of power, celebrityhood, and modern culture that tells the story of the titular character, who bears a closer resemblance to a teenaged Richie Rich or a classmate of Archie Andrews at Riverdale High than he does the famous Bauhaus architect whose name he shares. Wally is the human Dow Jones, the heir to a vast petrochemical conglomerate. When the elder Thaddeus Gropius confronts Wally with the boilerplate plot ultimatum that he must marry "the saddest girl in the world" or be disinherited, a yarn unravels that is part screwball comedy and part unhinged parable on the lucrativeness of changing your identity. Hensley's dialogue is witty, lyrical, sampled, dada, and elliptical--all in the service of a very bizarre mystery. There's sex, violence, rock and roll, intrigue, and betrayal--all brought home in Hensley's truly inimitable style. Created during an era when another well-off "W" was stuffing the coffers of the morbidly solvent, Wally Gropius transforms futile daydreams and nightmares into the absurdity of capital. Hardcover, 10-in. x 12-in., 64 pages, . Cover price $18.99.
