Published Sep 2022 by Anthem Publishing.$8.95
1st printing.
Written by Dave Baker. Art and cover by Nicole Goux.
When Brooke, Kelly, Maggie, and Melissa buy a bootleg anime DVD at a gas station, they get much more than they bargained for with Super Love XL, a risqué movie featuring-among other things-a giant mecha who shoots lasers out of her chest.
The four girls are horrified (and maybe a little fascinated). It's so unlike anything they've seen, would probably shock everyone else in their town, and definitely would take over their extremely conservative Christian school. That's when they have the idea to sell copies to local boys... for twenty dollars a pop. But as the market for mildly titillating anime DVDs grows, the girls realize they'll need new material. On top of figuring out how to replicate their first success, there's growing tension within the group.
Will the four girls' shared history be strong enough to see them through this upheaval? Or will they learn that some things can only end in heartbreak?
Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 224 pages, full color.

1st printing. Written by Daniel Marrone. Art and cover by Seth. At once familiar and hard to place, the work of acclaimed Canadian cartoonist Seth evokes a world that no longer exists - and perhaps never existed, except in the panels of long-forgotten comics. Seth's distinctive drawing style strikingly recalls a bygone era of cartooning, an apt vehicle for melancholy, gently ironic narratives that depict the grip of the past on the present. Forging the Past offers a comprehensive account of this work and the complex interventions it makes into the past. Seth's comics are suffused with longing for the past, but on close examination this longing is revealed to be deeply ambivalent, ironic, and self-aware. Softcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 208 pages, Text (with B&W Illustrations). Cover price $60.00.

By Paul Hornschemeier. An abusive cowboy to a literate dinosaur to a heartbroken teenager to a has-been TV character running from cancellation...an endless stream of segues from one seemingly un-segue-able narrative to the next -- this is Forlorn Funnies. Moving from his formal experimentation-laden, sharply-designed and critically-acclaimed series, Sequential, Paul Hornschemeier begins this full-color, quarterly series without reserve: seven distinct and separate narratives flow into and out of one another seamlessly, creating the sensation of an anthology written by Siamese quintuplets! 32 pages, full color. Mature Readers. Cover price $3.95.

By Paul Hornschemeier. A small bodied, large-nosed man drifts through the ether, making mental memos to someone we never see. A lover? A sister? It is impossible to tell if he is dead, or if she is, or both. This dream-like scene begins the challenging and emotional second issue of Forlorn Funnies. The book then segues to the first chapter of "Mother, Come Home," the quiet, subtly surreal story of two men, a father and son, and the desperate fantasy worlds they create in an effort to cope with the death of the family's mother. 32 pages, full color. Mature Readers. Cover price $5.95.

Gemma loves playing baseball, but with her mom gone and her dad working endless overtime, it's up to her to keep the house running. She's too busy folding laundry, making lunches, getting her younger twin brothers to do their homework, and navigating the perils of middle school friendships to take baseball seriously. But every afternoon Gemma picks up her baseball glove to pitch to Teddy during his batting practice-throwing sliders down and away, fastballs right over the middle (not too fast or he'll get mad), and hanging curveballs high and tight. Could baseball be Gemma's ticket to the big leagues or will it mean the end of her family as she knows it? Softcover, 5 1/2-in. x 8-in., 272 pages, full color. Cover price $13.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Michael Zulli. After twenty odd years making art and comics, Zulli believes that there are universal truths to be found amid the struggle and calling to make art, and indeed, to life itself. Often brutal, sometimes a bit funny, and always surreal as it examines life from a different perspective, The Fracture of the Universal Boy is Zulli's personal reflection on love, life and art; and both the damage done and the possibility of transcending even the most dire and difficult of times. Part one of a three graphic novel set called The Dream Suite, Zulli's The Fracture of the Universal Boy is the beginning of a journey we all take in one way or another. Hardcover, 9-in. x 12-in., 208 pages, B&W. Cover price $27.99.
