Sale - A masterful plastic surgeon is having an affair with his assistant's wife and she thinks her husband will not grant her a divorce so he switches faces with his assistant thinking he can lose his wealth and begin again, but try as he might, he cannot convince the woman that he is not her husband but the man she really loves. Plus: "Death!" with art by Myron Fass - A man wants a superstitious peasant girl for his wife, so when her husband is deathly ill, he gets the idea to disguise himself as Death and come during the night to carry off the husband. Uncovered The Hidden Art of the Girlie Pulps HC (2003 Adventure House) 1-1ST VG+ 4.5

    Starts Dec 15

1st Printing - Written by Douglas Ellis. During the 1920's and 1930's the girlie pulps proliferated, but were sold "under the counter" to protect innocent eyes. Published with the belief that "sex sells", each month they sailed forth, their covers adorned with bewitching vixens in various states of undress, showing as much as the law would allow - and often daring to show more. Talented artists such as Enoch Bolles, Peter Driben, Earle Bergey, Norman Saunders, H.J. Ward and Zoe Mozert created a body of gorgeous pinup art that, unlike the later magazine and calendar pin-up art of the 1940's, has generally remained hidden until now. Hardcover, Horizontal Format, 12" x 9", 208 pages, full color. Cover price $40.00.
