Larry's Wonderful World of Comics Limited Edition. Convention exclusive limited to 1000 copies. (W) Robert Kirkman (A) Cory Walker (C) Cory Walker & Bill Crabtree. In stores the week of January 15th. The Concept: Mark Grayson is just like most everyone else his age. He's a senior at a normal American high School. He has a crappy part time job after school and on weekends. He likes girls quite a bit... but doesn't quite understand them. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, and sleeping late on Saturdays... at least until the good cartoons come on. The only difference between Mark and everyone else is that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, and as of late, he seems to be inheriting his father's powers. Which sounds okay at first, but how do you follow in your father's footsteps when you know you will never live up to his standards? This Issue: ORIGIN ISSUE!!! Strange things begin to happen to Mark Grayson as he begins to develop superpowers. Luckily, his dad is around to show him the ropes, at least he WOULD be if he weren't so busy saving the world all the time. Mark is forced to go out on his own, and try and figure out how all this superheroing business works. The results are a monumental disaster. Meanwhile, there's trouble at school, when Mark is drug into a fight of epic proportions. I dare you to miss it... well... not really... I'd prefer if you just bought it. FC 32pp

And why is the world's premier teenaged super team on hand to help Invincible stop him? And when did that girl in 3rd period science class get so cute? (W) Robert Kirkman (A) Cory Walker (C) Bill Crabtree (cover) Cory Walker & Bill Crabtree. FC 32pp $2.95 Ongoing Monthly series In stores the week of March 12th. The Concept: Mark Grayson is just like most everyone else his age. He's a senior at a normal American high School. He has a crummy part time job after school and on weekends. This Issue: Mark's father, Nolan decides that they need to spend some "quality time" together. They plan a day to patrol the globe together keeping the planet safe; the superhero equivalent of playing catch in the backyard. It doesn't take them long to find an otherworldly menace trying to claim earth as its prize. It's up to Mark and Nolan to defend our planet... luckily for us, this kind of thing is old hat for Nolan, now, if only Mark could stay out of his way. In other news, Mark quit his job at Burger Mart, and his mom makes pork chops for dinner... mmmmm, pork chops. Cover price $2.95.

COVER BY SHAWN MARTINBROUGH GEOFF JOHNS (W)/SHAWN MARTINBROUGH (P) ? THE SCOOP: Red-hot writer Geoff Johns (JSA) and penciler Shawn Martinbrough (Detective Comics) visit The House -- and shine a light into the darkest corners of the mutant experience! THE SET-UP: They are everywhere... but they belong nowhere. There is an urban legend circulating throughout America. One that began in New York many years ago. A tale of mutants so deviant and abhorrent, so freakish, that "normal" mutants call them outsiders. The creatures live below the streets of our cities, under the asphalt roads and electrical pipes, safe from Sentinel detection. These unfortunates are known as "the Morlocks." THE STORY: This is the tale of one of those groups -- a group whose members each hope to accomplish one last "wish" in the surface world before severing all ties with our society. Some of these men and women want to say good-bye to loved ones, others are looking for revenge. As paranoia grows and fear ignites, a city neighborhood in Chicago reveals what lengths "ordinary" people will go to eradicate these monsters. They are not heroes or villains. They are scared, cold and hungry... trying to stay out of the spotlight. The Morlocks want to exist. Nothing more. But humanity won't let them. And probably shouldn't. 4-issue mini-series is 32 pages, with ads. 7-59606-05249-3-00111 (MarvelPGplus) 2.50 Cover price $2.50.

cover by peter ferguson karl bollers (W)/peter ferguson & max douglas (p) ? THE SCOOP: Think all mutants wear spandex? Or have flashy codenames? Or are immersed in the struggle between human and mutant? Think again! ? THE SET-UP: MUTIES is a six-issue series that explores a very different side of a classic Marvel concept, and can be loosely described as THE UNCANNY X-MEN meets The Twilight Zone. Each globe-spanning, self-contained story focuses on a different mutant and his place in the world ? whether or not he's directly involved in the ideological struggle that will inevitably determine the future of mankind. These are the ones who have fallen between the cracks. ? THE STORY: Meet a thirteen-year-old boy genius who is taunted and tormented by his peers. But what is the secret that makes Jared different from anything mutant fans have ever encountered before? ? THE FORMAT: Each issue of this six-part series is 32 pages, with ads.
