    Volume 1 - 1st printing. Text by Kim Weston. Stories and art by and Carl Barks. These volumes print 22 complete Carl Barks stories in the original, full size they were originally drawn in glorious black and white. Volume 1 contains here are 2 Happy Hound (Droopy) stories, 3 Benny Burro solo stories, and 4 stories of the combined Barney Bear and Benny Burro feature. Volume 2 contains 13 stories of the combined Barney Bear & Benny Burro feature were originally published in Our Gang Comics #11-23. The book measures over 14 inches wide and 20 inches tall and weighs over 5 pounds. Looking at these pages as printed in this book is like looking at the pages fresh from the master's drawing board. Five early stories from 1943 are printed one page to the page in the book page with an image size of about 12 1/2" by 17 3/4", the size that Barks drew his original art in 1942 and most of 1943. These pages are so large that in order to fit them into this already large book, we must print each half page sideways on a single page so that if you turn the book sideways you can see each full page at the size it was drawn. This strip is unique in that it started as a Sunday only, then added a daily to the Sunday storyline on September 19, 1959, only to splint the Sunday and daily's storylines into their own continuities on January 9, 1951.

    For volume 1 we will be reprinting the first 34 Sundays in glorious color until the daily and Sunday continuities split, followed by dailies to October 30, 1955.

    Earth's entire population has become infected with an airborne virus, but only one percent have the specific gene required to activate it and they become to be known as the "One Percenters".

    These individuals begin to develop unusual abilities due to the rare gene. In most cases these abilities are harmless but, in a few isolated cases, they become extremely dangerous. Because of this threat, all One Percenters are forced into isolated facilities run by a company called Sanaxus to undergo further testing. Under the guise of being a research company searching for a cure, Sanaxus carries out barbaric tests on the One Percenters with their own secret agenda in mind. That is, until a cataclysmic event at a minimum-security camp involving One Percenter Lenard Higgs, a former college professor, triggers the start of a war between government-backed Sanaxus and the One Percenters.
