Volume 3 - 1st printing. Collects The Brave and the Bold (1955-1983 1st Series DC) #157-200.

Cover by Karl Kerschl. Foreword by Scott Beatty.

Back in the 70s, The Brave and the Bold paired Batman with a wild array of partners. Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Adam Strange, Sgt. Rock, Black Lightning, and the Metal Men, among many more, showed up to take their turns in the spotlight.

The success of these comics was due in large part to the contributions of writer Bob Haney and artist Jim Aparo. Both men used their considerable skills to bring readers an extraordinary new adventure every issue. Upon Haney's exit from the series, Aparo was joined by such celebrated writers as Mike W. Barr, Gerry Conway, Alan Brennert, and more.

Legendary artists such as Carmine Infantino, Dick Giordano, José Luis García-López, Dave Cockrum, and Dave Gibbons would also grace the series before its end. Without question, these Batman team-up stories are the most essential, nail-biting thrillers DC Comics published during the Bronze Age.

Includes a brand-new foreword by writer Scott Beatty, along with nearly a dozen never-before-collected, meticulously restored stories.

    Hardcover, 904 pages, full color.

    Credits:

Written by Mike W. Barr, Gerry Conway, Alan Brennert, Cary Burkett, Robert Kanigher, Martin Pasko, Gary Cohn, Michael Fleisher, Don Kraar, Paul Kupperberg, Dan Mishkin, Charlie Boatner, J. M. DeMatteis, Bob Haney, Denny O'Neil, Bill Kelley, and Marv Wolfman.

Gunsmith Cats Omnibus TPB (2025 Dark Horse) 3-1ST

    (see more images)

Volume 3 - 1st printing. Story and art by Kenichi Sonoda. Chicago in the 1990s - a city of crime that means good business for two young women: bounty hunter partners Rally and Minnie-May, the Gunsmith Cats! Fans will love this crime manga classic from the '90s from the character designer of Bubblegum Crisis, printed in an over-sized format and high-quality paper. Rally Vincent runs Gunsmith Cats-a gun shop in Illinois with her partner, demolitions expert and former call girl Minnie-May Hopkins. But Rally's "real" job doesn't pay the bills, her hobby does. And her hobby is bounty hunting, bringing the most wanted men and women in the Chicago area to justice-dressed in her sharp suit and tie, and driving her Shelby Cobra GT 500! In Gunsmith Cats Omnibus vol. 3, custody battles can get nasty-but rarely as nasty as the situation Rally and Minnie-May are caught up in. Michael Stone, the famed hypnotist and stage magician known professionally as "Mister Smart" has jumped bail on a hit-and-run, which made him Rally's business...and then kidnapping gets added to the rap sheet, as Smart is set up by his estranged wife on a false charge of abducting his own daughter, Jeena. But this is much more than just a family dispute, as behind the personal drama is a scheme to use Smart's skills to rip off $20 million in Mob money...with Jeena's life as penalty if he doesn't pull off the trick! Then, Rally's trouble-prone pal, master thief Misty Brown, gets into more trouble than ever when she decides to steal Bean "Roadbuster" Bandit's beloved car Buff on a whim. Not only is Bean a tad upset, but Misty is now in terrible danger, and not necessarily from the Roadbuster-because certain ruthless people want to lay hands on the cargo he was transporting. Sure, it was only blank sheets of paper, but there's thousands of them...and it seems they're the exact same special kind used by the US Mint! Softcover, 5 1/2-in. x 8-in., 648 pages, B&W. Parental Advisory: Explicit Content NOTE: "...[Sonoda's] work on series such as Bubblegum Crisis and Gall Force helped define the look of 1980s anime. His first major manga, Gunsmith Cats, proved that Sonoda is a talented writer as well. Bruce knows that he must reclaim his mantle from Valley, but the fight wont be easy. Although his broken back has been miraculously repaired, his combat skills must be honed even sharper than they were before they faced Bane – a challenge taken up by the shadowy martial arts grandmaster Lady Shiva. As he slowly rebuilds his relationships with Robin, Nightwing, and his other allies, Bruce keeps a steady eye on Azrael, waiting for the right moment to challenge his wayward successor and take back his legacy – or die trying. Asterix Omnibus HC (2020 Papercutz) New Edition 3-1ST

    (see more images)

Volume 3 - 1st printing. Collects Asterix and the Big Fight, Asterix in Britain, and Asterix and the Normans.

Written by Rene Goscinny. Art and cover by Albert Uderzo.

One of the world's greatest comics characters, the ever-fearless Asterix, continues to battle supposedly unbeatable odds to protect his tiny village from the Roman Empire. Fortunately, all of the villagers have super-strength thanks to a secret potion.

In "Asterix and the Big Fight," one of the three classic Asterix graphic novels collected here, the Romans are beginning to wise up. Instead of trying to conquer Asterix's village, the Roman's challenge Vitalstatistx, chief of Asterix's tribe, to a one on one battle with the Gallo-Roman Chief, Cassius Ceramix of Linoleum. As per Ancient Gaulish customs, the loser would forfeit his entire tribe to the winner.

"Asterix in Britain," the Romans have conquered all of Britain except for a single village in Kent. Sound familiar? Anticlimax, a member of that British village, travels to Gaul to seek help from his first cousin once removed, Asterix. Together, with Obelix, they decide to bring back a barrel full of the secret potion that imbues anyone with super-strength, but word leaks out, and the Romans will do anything they can to thwart this rescue mission.

Finally, in "Asterix and the Normans," Asterix encounters a group of Normans who want to learn all about fear, and that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as how many strange and crazy things happen in this particular adventure. We won't even mention which pop star is parodied in this story!

Just when you think you know what to expect in Asterix, the creators Goscinny and Uderzo throw things at you that you never could've imagined. That's probably why Asterix remains such a successful comics character to this day!

    Hardcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 152 pages, full color.

    Cover price $22.99.

    Softcover, 8 1/2-in. x 11-in., 152 pages, full color.

    Cover price $14.99.
