1st printing. Story and art by Amanda Vähämäki. Characterized by an intriguing disjointed rhythm and delicious pencil-smudged style, The Bun Field is defined by a surreal ebb-and-flow, possessing a deep sense of foreboding and hurt, yet maintaining a biting sense of humor. Amanda Vähämäki's first graphic novel is infused with a sense of abbreviated adolescence and a kind of grey sky banality. A young girl dreams of a dinosaur eating Donald Duck; wakes to find a bald, hulking stranger sharing her breakfast; leaves to take a car trip with a bear; falls and breaks a tooth, to have it replaced from her dentist's dog's mouth; and pays back the favor by plowing a field of buns. Young people and anthropomorphic animals commingle in dreamy landscapes, performing mundane tasks that are skewed with an absurd and fantastic edge. Softcover, 7-in.x 7-in., B&W. Cover price $12.95.

Story and art by Sean Karemaker.
"Feast of Fields" is a reference to the picnics Karemaker took with his mother in the upper fields of his elementary school. It is a graphic biography of the artist's mother who grew up in Denmark in an orphanage because her mother suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, and her father had left her and her siblings behind. The story weaves between her story in the past and the artist's present. Karemaker constructs the graphic novel through a series of scrolls, densely illustrated, then cut up to make the pages of the book, creating a truly unique visual experience.

1st printing. By Keith Bendis. In the mid-1800s, self-made naturalist and outdoorsman John James Audubon began work on his collection of 435 watercolor plates that would become the standard-setting Birds of America. Now, some nigh on two hundred years later, its indisputable and entirely authentic successor has finally emerged. Master cartoonist Keith Bendis has traveled to all four corners of this nation, or wishes he had, returning with accounts of the Beach Stoners of North Carolina, the Impossible Screamers of Alaska that lay eggs five times the size of their body, the too coo for school Red-Capped Delaware Slackers, and the alluring Pink-Breasted Frogcatcher of the Louisiana bayou. These most whimsical and biologically unsound members of the avian species are brought to life in a style reminiscent of Gary Larsons Far Side, handsomely coupled with a rarefied New Yorker panache. Simply put, Grifters, Floaters, and Punks is essential reading for both seasoned birdwatchers and budding ornithologists as well as lovers of screwball cartooning. Hardcover, 8-in.x 10-in., 18 pages, full color. Cover price $25.00.

Text and art by Robert Chesley Osborn. Foreword by Garry Trudeau.
The drawings of Robert Osborn, one of America's most admired artists and satirists, have provided trenchant comment on the American scene for the past four decades. His keen intuitive sense, coupled with the distinctive line from his brush, has added a dimension to the happenings of our time.
The ingredients of an Osborn drawing are, in various combinations, humor, indignation, motion, and satire -- not to mention artistry. Now, in this revealing book about himself, he shows what makes up the man and the artist.
Combining a candid text, personal photographs, and a wealth of pictures, Osborn on Osborn is a striking retrospective of Osborn's total output, from his earliest efforts, to serious paintings, to the evolution of his own unique style.
Osborn went from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to Yale, then to Europe to study art; and he suffered pangs of failure as a painter. Only after his Dilbert training-manual cartoons saved hundreds of lives during World War II did his capacities as a drawer begin to receive deserved recognition -- in such magazines as Harper's, Life, Look, Esquire, Vogue, Time and the New Republic, as well as in numerous newspapers and books.
This is a man with strong loves and hates. He loves Matisse, Miro, Mozart, automobiles and airplanes, duck shooting and trout fishing. He hates war, smoking, Mussolini, and the deterioration of quality in America.
This is also a man with a tremendous sense of enjoyment. Osborn writes as he draws -- with humor, compassion, and insight -- and his extraordinary personality and delight in life shine through this self-portrait.
