From rarely- or never-seen illustrations and comics, to album covers and photographs, to studio scraps, Geneviève Castrée: Complete Works 1981-2016 is a breathtaking collection of Castrée's work and soul.
Those familiar with Castrée's seminal memoir about her childhood, Susceptible (included fully within), will know that she, to a large degree, raised herself. It was in those unattended, semi-feral childhood years that Geneviève used art to pull herself out of what could have otherwise been a bleak existence. Instead, she found beauty and depth around her and blended it gorgeously with the harsh, devastating realities of this world.
With an introduction from Castrée's widower Phil Elverum.

1st printing. Edited by Tony Williams. George A. Romero (b. 1940) has achieved a surprising longevity as director since his first film, Night of the Living Dead (1968). After recently relocating to Canada, he shows no signs of slowing up: his recent film, Survival of the Dead (2009), is discussed in a new interview conducted by Tony Williams for this volume, and still other films are awaiting release. Although commonly known as a director of zombie films, a genre he himself launched, Romero's films often transcend easy labels. His films are best understood as allegorical commentaries on American life that just happen to appropriate horror as a convenient vehicle. Romero's films encompass works as different as The Crazies, Hungry Wives, Knightriders, and Bruiser. The interviews in this collection cover a period of over forty years. In whatever format they originally appeared-the printed page, the internet, or the video interview-these discussions illustrate both the evolution of Romero's chosen forms of technology and the development of his thinking about the relationship between cinema and society. They present Romero as an independent director in every sense of the word. Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 224 pages, Text.

Story and art by George Herriman.
Meticulously and lovingly restored, this exquisite, generously sized volume collects the acclaimed and groundbreaking Krazy Kat Sunday strips of 1925, 1926, and 1927.
This Eisner Award-nominated series showcases one of the most renowned and celebrated comic strips in the art form's history as it strides boldly through the mid-1920s, its quirky characters in full flower in this gorgeous, archival hardcover collection.
In this volume: Ignatz repeatedly sets elaborate traps for Krazy (long before the Road Runner), adventures on the "enchanted mesa," wacky weather, literal cliffhangers - and what happens when Santa and the stork arrive at the same chimney at the same moment? BONUS: The most complete collection of Herriman's long-lost Book of Magic pages ever assembled.
With incisive essays by Herriman scholars, this entry in our ongoing series makes it plain to Herriman fans and newcomers alike why historians, scholars, and cartoonists consider this to be the best comic strip ever created and why The Comics Journal proclaimed it to be "the greatest comic strip of the 20th Century."
Krazy Kat is an ongoing story of a (head-) achingly unrequited love triangle. Krazy adores Ignatz, who returns that affection by launching literal bricks at Krazy's cranium. Offisa Pup loves Krazy and seeks to protect "her" (Herriman always maintained that Krazy is genderless) by tossing Ignatz in the pokey. With this deceptively simple structure, Herriman builds entire worlds of meaning into the actions, building thematic depth and sweeping his readers up with the looping verbal and visual rhythms of his characters' unique dialogue and his loopy, ever-shifting surrealistic backgrounds.

Where will the unending travels of Mr. Bum Bill Bee take him? These are just some of the questions that are beside the point in this collection of the hauntingly surreal, yet amazingly tender/violent adventures of Krazy Kat, Ignatz, and Offisa Pup.With incisive essays by Herriman scholars, and reproductions of rare Herriman ephemera, this entry in our ongoing series makes it plain to Herriman fans and newcomers alike why historians, scholars, and cartoonists consider this to be the best comic strip ever created and why The Comics Journal proclaimed it to be the greatest comic strip of the 20th Century. 1st printing. By Brian Jay Jones. On May 25, 1977, a problem-plagued, budget-straining, independent science-fiction film opened in thirty-two American movie theatres. Conceived, written, and directed by a little-known filmmaker named George Lucas, Star Wars reinvented the cinematic landscape, ushering in a new way for movies to be made, marketed, and merchandised. And if that wasn't game-changing enough, Lucas went on to create another blockbuster series with Indiana Jones, and completely revolutionized the world of special effects and sound systems. His work and legacy have led to a rash of innovation and democratization in film and television. Simply put, George Lucas is one of the most influential filmmakers of the past fifty years. 1st printing. Written by Melinda Snodgrass. Art by Michael Komarck and Elizabeth Leggett. In 1946, an alien virus ravaged the world, its results as random as a hand of cards. From that fateful moment to the present day, those infected either draw the black queen and die, draw an ace and receive superpowers, or draw the joker and are bizarrely mutated. Today, Aces, Jokers, and uninfected humans live in relative peace. Francis "Franny" Black is an uninfected human cop, trying to police a world filled with people with the extraordinary powers that he lacks. Newly-and some would say too suddenly-promoted to detective, he has been working out of Wild Card Central, the precinct in Jokertown where the bulk of the virus victims fell in 1946. Franny's father was one of the heroes of the precinct, killed in the line of duty, and Franny is finding it hard to fill his dead father's shoes. That is, until he's given a particularly insidious case and starts uncovering long-buried secrets that his father might have died to protect. Softcover, 160 pages, full color. Cover price $28.99.

Martin's shared-world universe, Wild Cards. An alien virus ravages the world, with effects as random as a hand of cards. Those infected either draw the black queen and die, draw an ace and receive superpowers, or draw the joker and become bizarrely mutated. Rosa Garza—an ace whose powers center around her family's lotería deck—has arrived in New York City to help her dying grandmother. But what should have been a quiet time of recovery is instead interrupted by a series of eccentric robberies perpetrated by a mysterious ace known only as Professor Daedalus, who has the power to create and animate impossible automatons. And these automatons are stealing from the rich to give to the poor and needy—in particular, to the underfunded clinic where Rosa's abuela is being treated. With police scrutiny falling hard on her, Rosa must discover Daedalus's identity and halt his crime spree before she herself is arrested—or becomes the automatons' next victim. Story and art By Seth.
Celebrated cartoonist and New Yorker cover artist Seth gives us the fictional life of George Sprott.
On the surface George seems a charming, foolish, old man, but who is he? And who was he? Told as a patchwork tale, we come to know George, piece by piece, in a series of "interviews," flashbacks, and personal reminiscences. George Sprott is a story about time, identity, loss, and the persistence of memory.
Though, ultimately, this is the story of a man's death, Seth leavens it with humor and restraint. Originally serialized in The New York Times Magazine, this greatly expanded and remastered-version is George Sprott's first publication as a complete work.

1st printing. Story and art by R. O. Blechman. The joyful arrival of a longed-for baby is followed by overwhelming losses but a loyal dog makes happiness possible again. This moving and profound graphic novel by R. O. Blechman treats its solemn subject with humor, simplicity, and warm humanity. Maurice Sendak characterized the tale as "fierce, passionate little pictures that pack a punch only Blechman seems capable of delivering," and Jules Feiffer observed that "Long-time fans are well aware of Blechman's elegant cartoon-poetry, but in Georgie, his quiet, measured pace moves the reader onto darker terrain, presented in a sweet and tragic man-and-dog story that calls for a second reading, and perhaps, more."
