    1st printing.

    By Stephen King.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Stephen Kings terrifying novella about a town engulfed in a dense, mysterious mist as humanity makes its last stand against unholy destruction—originally published in the acclaimed short story collection Skeleton Crew and made into a TV series, as well as a feature film starring Thomas Jane and Marcia Gay Harden.

In the wake of a summer storm, terror descends...David Drayton, his son Billy, and their neighbor Brent Norton join dozens of others and head to the local grocery store to replenish supplies following a freak storm. Once there, they become trapped by a strange mist that has enveloped the town. As the confinement takes its toll on their nerves, a religious zealot, Mrs. Carmody, begins to play on their fears to convince them that this is Gods vengeance for their sins. She insists a sacrifice must be made and two groups—those for and those against—are aligned. Clearly, staying in the store may prove fatal, and the Draytons, along with store employee Ollie Weeks, Amanda Dumfries, Irene Reppler, and Dan Miller, attempt to make their escape. But whats out there may be worse than what they left behind.

This exhilarating novella explores the horror in both the enemy you know—and the one you can only imagine.

    Softcover, 5 1/2-in. x 8-in., 176 pages, Text Only.

    Cover price $12.99.

1st Printing - Written by John T. Flynn. My purpose in writing this book is to attempt to describe the road along which this country is traveling to its destruction. Human societies come under the influence of great tides of thought and appetite that run unseen deeply below the surface of society. After a while these powerful streams mass along with them without the individuals in the mass being aware of the direction in which they are going. Up to a certain point it is possible to resist these controlling tides and to reverse them, but a time comes when they are so strong that society loses its power of decision over the direction in which it is going. I believe we are now moving along under the dominion of such tides and that all things we do to deal with our accumulating perils are futile because we do not understand the tides nor the direction in which they are carrying us. I believe that we still have in our hands the means of checking this onrush to disaster. Softcover Digest, 4.5" x 7", 208 pages, B&W, text only.

1st printing. By Cormac McCarthy. A searing, post-apocalyptic novel destined to become Cormac McCarthy's masterpiece. A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food—and each other. The Road is the profoundly moving story of a journey. It boldly imagines a future in which no hope remains, but in which the father and his son, each the others world entire, are sustained by love. Awesome in the totality of its vision, it is an unflinching meditation on the worst and the best that we are capable of: ultimate destructiveness, desperate tenacity, and the tenderness that keeps two people alive in the face of total devastation. Hardcover, 6-in. x 9-in., 256 pages, Text Only. Cover price $35.00.

Popular Culture and Philosophy: Book 7 - 1st printing. "I Kill Therefore, I am!" Edited by Richard Greene and Peter Vernezze. Tony Soprano and the gang meet classic and modern philosophy in these witty, provocative essays. Covering everything from Aristotle to ziti, 17 wiseguys (three of them gals) explore such irresistible topics as: Is Tony Soprano a good man? Is Carmela a feminist? Morally speaking, who is the worst person on The Sopranos? Is watching the show harmful to one's moral health? And what if Tony had read Machiavelli instead of Sun Tzu? This collection of essays by philosophers who are also fans does a deep probe of the Sopranos, analyzing the adventures—and personalities—of Tony, Carmela, Livia, and the rest of television's most irresistible Mafia family for their metaphysical, epistemological, value theory, Eastern philosophical, and contemporary postmodern possibilities. No prior philosophical ualifications or mob connections are required to enjoy these musings, which are presented with the same vibrancy and wit that have made the show such a hit! These Fists Break Bricks SC (2022 Mondo Books) How Kung Fu Movies Swept America and Changed the World 1-1ST

    1st printing.

By Grady Hendrix and Chris Poggiali. Foreword by RZA (of Wu-Tang Clan).

When a major Hollywood studio released Five Fingers of Death to thrill-seeking Times Square moviegoers on March 21, 1973, only a handful of Black and Asian American audience members knew the difference between an Iron Fist and an Eagle's Claw. That changed overnight as kung fu movies kicked off a craze that would earn millions at the box office, send TV ratings soaring, sell hundreds of thousands of video tapes, influence the birth of hip hop, reshape the style of action we see in movies today, and introduce America to some of the biggest non-white stars to ever hit motion picture screens.

This lavishly illustrated book tells the bone-blasting, spine-shattering story of how these films of fury - spawned in anti-colonial protests on the streets of Hong Kong - came to America and raised hell for 15 years before greed, infomercials, and racist fearmongering shut them down.

    Softcover, 8-in. x 11-in., 432 pages, B&W.

    Cover price $39.95.

    By D. Wilson.

Born out of the cultural flamboyance and anxiety of the 1980s, They Live (1988) is a hallmark of John Carpenter's singular canon, combining the aesthetics of multiple genres and leveling an attack against the politics of Reaganism and the Cold War. The decision to cast the professional wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper as his protagonist gave Carpenter the additional means to comment on the hypermasculine attitudes and codes indicative of the era.

This study traces the development of They Live from its comic book roots to its legacy as a cult masterpiece while evaluating the film in light of the paranoid/postmodern theory that matured in the decidedly "Big 80s."

Directed by a reluctant auteur, the film is examined as a complex work of metafiction that calls attention to the nature of cinematic production and reception as well as the dynamics of the cult landscape.

    Softcover, 5-in. x 7-in., 128 pages, Text (with B&W Photos).
