1st printing. Written by Jorge Zentner. Art and cover by Ruben Pellejero. The first English translation of the entire Adventures of Dieter Lumpen series, the most famous work of the Angoulême award-winning team of Jorge Zentner and Rubén Pellejero! Dieter Lumpen is a man of the world, an adventurer who wants no part of adventure. Nonetheless, he is swept along to exotic locations from Turkey to the Caribbean, from China to Venice. He is not quite so hard-boiled as the typical adventure hero. As written by Zentner, Dieter's irony is gentler, more subtle, more reflective, and more tongue-in-cheek than hard or bitter. Pellejero is quite simply one of Europe's top comics artists, who was chosen for the plum job to illustrate the new adventures of Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese. Dieter Lumpen began in 1981 and continued until 1994. This definitive omnibus collects all eight short stories and the three graphic novels with a foreword by Tim Sale. Softcover, 9-in. x 11-in., 264 pages, full color. Cover price $49.99.

1st printing. Story and art by Chris Oliveros.
A deep dive into a contentious and dramatic period in Canadian history—the rise of a militant separatist group whose effects still reverberate today.
It started in 1963, when a dozen mailboxes in a wealthy Montreal neighborhood were blown to bits by handmade bombs. By the following year, a guerrilla army camp was set up deep in the woods, with would-be soldiers training for armed revolt. Then, in 1966, two high-school students dropped off bombs at factories, causing fatalities. What was behind these concerted, often bungled acts of terrorism, and how did they last for nearly eight years?
In Are You Willing to Die for the Cause?, Quebec-born cartoonist Chris Oliveros sets out to dispel common misconceptions about the birth and early years of a movement that, while now defunct, still holds a tight grip on the hearts and minds of Quebec citizenry and Canadian politics. There are no initials more volatile in Quebec history than FLQ—the Front de libération du Québec (or, in English, the Quebec Liberation Front). The original goal of this socialist movement was to fight for workers' rights of the French majority who found their rights trampled on by English bosses. The goal became ridding the province of its English oppression by means of violent revolution.
Using dozens of obscure and long-forgotten sources, Oliveros skillfully weaves a comics oral history where the activists, employers, politicians, and secretaries piece together the sequence of events. At times humorous, other times dramatic, and always informative, Are You Willing to Die for the Cause? shines a light on just how little it takes to organize dissent and who people trust to overthrow the government.

Popular Culture and Philosophy: Book 14 - 1st printing. "Chewing the Fat with Kant and Nietzsche!" Edited by Lisa Heldke, Kerri Mommer, and Cynthia Pineo. Dr. Robert Atkins, a New York cardiologist, unleashed his low-carb revolution upon an unsuspecting and increasingly pudgy world in 1972. Atkins quickly recruited millions of converts and eventually spawned a legion of imitators, including the Zone, Protein Power, and South Beach diets. Conventional dietary opinion, funded by the farming lobby, was scandalized. Then the dietary world was shaken to its foundations when the New York Times proclaimed that the latest medical research demonstrated the efficacy of Atkins. While the Great Diet War rages on with undiminished ferocity, the broader philosophical questions raised by Atkins have yet to be explored. What does the low-carb revolution mean for our lives, our most fundamental values, and our place in the cosmos? Now, for the first time, these big fat conceptual issues are attacked with gusto by sixteen keen, well-rounded philosophical intellects. The Atkins Diet and Philosophy offers a balanced fare of sympathy and criticism for Atkins, garnished by piquant wit and topped off with fragrant aperçus! Softcover, 274 pages, Text only. Cover price $17.95.
